The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is a self-governing body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of the Indian government.Its aim is to encourage unadulterated food standards in the minds of consumers, merchants, producers, and investors.

Name of the Food Product: The name of the food item is extremely important. As a result, it should be clearly stated on the packaged product.

List of Ingredients: The term "list of ingredients" refers to the materials that were used to create the finished product. It is important that the manufacturer accurately lists all of the ingredients and does not confuse the customer.

Nutritional Information: Nutritional information refers to the number of calories obtained from fats, saturated fats, trans fats, cholesterol, sodium, carbohydrates, dietary fibre, sugars, protein, vitamin A, vitamin C, calcium, iron, and other nutrients contained in a food product. Every calorie ratio should be mentioned on all Nutritional Information labels on all products.

Declaration regarding Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian: Since India is such a diverse country, its eating habits are as well. As a result, according to the FSSAI Guidelines on Food Product Labeling, the manufacturer must specify whether the product is vegetarian, non-vegetarian, or vegan on the label.

Declaration regarding Food Additives: Food additives are chemicals that are applied to food in order to maintain the flavour or taste of the food. As a result, it is important to make a statement about the ingredients used on the label or packaging.

Name and Address of the Manufacturer:  The manufacturer must include his factory's complete address, including street address, area, state, and zip code. Such goods can be considered fake in the market if they are not listed.

Net Quantity: The weight of the commodity is referred to as the net quantity. In most cases, the weight of the product and the weight of the packaging are combined and then stated in the Net Quantity.

Date of Manufacture and Best Before & Use By Date: The date of manufacture refers to when the product was made, while the Best Before & Use By Date specifies when and in what month the product should be consumed. Before buying a product, the customer should check the Date of Manufacture as well as the Best Before and Use By Dates.

Instructions for Use: According to the FSSAI Guidelines on Food Product Labeling, the Instructions for Use must be specified. It typically instructs or guides the customer on how to use the product, as the name implies.
